Australian Padel Tour Manager, Matt Thomas

Matt Thomas begun playing Padel in 2005 when he was coaching tennis in Spain. He loved the sport and after playing the World Championships I begun a project in 2010 to bring Padel to the UK as there were only 2 courts there. Matt looked at lines of support for the project and had numberous videos on youtube and media appearences (Matt Thomas Padel…Padel Nation…Matt Thomas BBC) and in 2014 we opened Padel Nation in Birmingham which is the largest Padel club in the UK with 4 indoor courts.

At Padel Nation Matt launched the first junior padel programme in the UK. This was a year long project which resulted in managing and taking the juniors to the World Championhships in Maxico to represent the UK. The team performed fantastically well taking the bronze medal behind Spain and Argentina.

In December 2015 he moved to Sydney to manage Padel Sydney which is the only padel club in Australia. His role is raise awareness of the sport, coach people how to play and he manges the day to day running of the club.

Padel is a great sport which he is very passionate about.
