Australia’s top Padel players have been selected to compete in the inaugural FIP Asia Padel Cup, taking place from 17-24 October 2025 in Doha, Qatar, at the prestigious Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

The first edition of the FIP Asia Padel Cup will bring together the best players from across the Asia-Oceania region who will represent their countries in this exciting new chapter for the sport.

Leading the charge for Australia is former World No.1 Men’s Tennis Champion and Padel Australia Ambassador Pat Rafter, who will don the green and gold once again, this time as part of the national padel team, affectionately known as the Aussie Crocs.

Aussie Crocs Player Selection

Australia competes in one international event annually for both the Opens and Masters levels, alternating between the FIP World Cup and FIP Asian Cup. The 2025 Aussie Crocs will be competing in the Asian Cup, with team selection based on a combination of the following criteria:

Australian Nationality

Players must hold a valid Australian passport and have not represented another country in the thirty-six (36) months prior to the event.

1. Results
  • Recent results at International (FIP) and National (APT) tournaments
  • Recent results at FIP World Cup tournaments
2. Ranking
  • Current FIP world ranking
  • Current APT ranking (or residing country equivalent)
3. Recommendation

Team coach and manager recommendation (consideration to match-up of pairings, previous pairing experience, good-standing)
