Matching a competition to your rating

The padel player rating system offers a standardised way to gauge your player ability level and match you with partners of a similar level. Different platforms have variations of this rating system, so use this as a handy guide to figure out where to start and who to play against.

How rankings are calculated

Player rankings calculated on top performances over a rolling 12-month period for Open Rankings and Master Rankings.

Open Rankings:

  • Calculated from a player's best six results.
  • Players can only accrue points from their highest achievement across the A, B, C, or D categories at each tournament (APT and ACPT)
  • Points cannot be collected from multiple Open categories in the same event.

Masters Rankings:

  • Calculated from a player's best five results.
  • Separate rankings exist for each age category
  • Players may accrue points in all Masters categories they compete in (e.g., Over 35s and Over 45s), with results contributing to each relevant age-group ranking list. (APT and ACPT)

Players can rank on more than one list if they've competed across different categories. However, for each tournament, ranking points will only count to the category where a player earns the highest value. Points cannot be collected from multiple categories in the same event.

Rankings are live to reflect the latest APT performances, and determine which level and category a player competes in for tournaments and competitions.
